New RV under warranty. Asked Curtis to check a leak, a valve and the power convertor.

They found no problems and charged me $770 to get my RV back, which is under warranty. In addition, they refused to perform a particular repair because they feel it will take over 20 hours. Mfg states it only takes 8 and told Curtis how to fix it. Curtis insists the mfg is wrong.

They dont agree. So I will take it to another dealer for that repair. Curtis is mad they dont get the 20hrs of labor so they are charging me instead. Bob Woodard expressed they had it too long and is costing them money.

It was sitting waiting refer door parts. Certainly not in my control. When I told Bob I was shocked at the charges, as all previous repairs were 100% covered, and i have had sevaral at different dealers, he threatened me. He immediately said "we can do this the easy way or the hard way." He said my only option was to pay him, take my RV and fight the bill later.

I had never mentioned anything about not paying.

These guys are plain ripping me off and holding my RV hostage. Ill call my attorney tomorrow.

Reason of review: Warranty issue.

Location: Portland, Oregon

How did the attorney thing pan out? If I could join you, and your attorney, I would!

But, your Comment says it all and it also happened to me recently. My final bill was nearly $2,500 and should have been more in the $500 range. RV held hostage so I wrote the check. Worse, I used a Visa.

Should have Stopped Payment anyway...There's more but I "cant" go into it! They know who I am but that doesn't bother me one bit. I've already informed the powers that be, as they say...All they (Curtis Service Department) has to do is PAY ME BACK!

Man, I can hear the same words out of the mouths and Service Manager that all these BAD Comments are saying. We should all get together!

Maybe you should have taken your TV back to your selling dealer then. Quit trying to ruin the rep of a family business.

The only thing to ruin this companies rep is if they actually did something correct.

It's obvious the Service Department at Curtis Trailer is making all the replies to these Many Customer Complaints. If you're a Dealership who sells and warrants a particular brand of RV, or Motorcycle, Or Automobile, Or John Deere Tractor, or or or..., then you FIX IT UNDER WARRANTY!

That's it. Then, you're guaranteed to get POSITIVE Comments about your "Family Owned Business" plus the Service People are looked at as "GODS!" Which, by the way, turns into "Word of Mouth Referrals," more business, more money for the grandkids of the original owners (if that's whose running the place...It certainly isn't Grandpa, who I used to know!) It's too bad. I saw this happen to my good friends, the Stevens....Remember that name?

Stevens & Son Jewelers, in the Lloyd Center back in the day. Grandkids took over and ***POOF*** they're gone!
